How the SpaPilot Planner Works

The SpaPilot Planner is designed to ensure that your spa is ready at the temperature you want at the times you plan to use it.

The SpaPilot Planner is designed to ensure that your spa is ready at the temperature you want at the times you plan to use it.

You simply choose:

  • the days you want to use the spa

  • the time the spa should be ready

  • the target temperature

SpaPilot then automatically manages the heating so the spa reaches the desired temperature as efficiently as possible.

Heating Strategies

SpaPilot includes three heating strategies that control how closely the system maintains the target temperature.

These strategies allow you to balance comfort and energy usage.

Priority

Keeps the spa temperature as close as possible to the target temperature.

Heating will start quickly if the temperature drops slightly.

Comfort

Allows moderate temperature variation to reduce unnecessary heating.

Economy

Allows larger temperature variations to maximize energy savings.

Because these strategies allow small temperature variations, the spa temperature may occasionally be slightly below the target temperature between heating cycles.

How the Planner Prepares the Spa

The Planner does not simply heat continuously until the spa reaches the target temperature.

Instead, SpaPilot calculates when heating should start so that the spa reaches the target temperature at the planned time, while avoiding unnecessary heating earlier in the day.

This helps reduce energy consumption while still ensuring the spa is ready when you want to use it.

Why the Temperature May Occasionally Drop Slightly

It is normal for the spa temperature to occasionally drop a small amount below the target temperature between heating cycles.

This happens because:

  • SpaPilot follows your selected heating strategy

  • the system avoids unnecessary heating when the spa is already close to the target temperature

  • the spa controller itself applies heating in cycles

For example, if the target temperature is 37°C, the spa may occasionally measure 35–36°C before the system starts heating again.

This behavior helps balance comfort and energy efficiency.

What Happens if the Spa Does Not Reach the Target Temperature

If the spa consistently does not reach the target temperature before the scheduled time, there may be an issue with the heating configuration or communication with the spa controller.

In this case we recommend:

  • verifying that the heating strategy is set appropriately (Priority is recommended)

  • checking that no cost limits are blocking heating

  • refreshing the app to ensure the latest spa data is displayed

If the problem continues, please contact support so we can investigate further.

Summary

The SpaPilot Planner automatically prepares your spa for your planned usage times by combining:

  • your selected heating strategy

  • the target temperature

  • efficient heating timing

Small temperature variations between heating cycles are normal and help reduce unnecessary energy use while keeping the spa ready for use.
